Services To The Public
During the opening hours of the Archive, it is possible to make visits by students from the schools of the Prefecture, so that the children come into contact with the material of the Archive and to promote its didactic utilization.
The visits are carried out by department and after consultation with the staff of the Archive, for better planning compared to the rest of the archival work and so that no more visits coincide.
During the visits, there is a guided tour of the archives and a presentation of history sources to the students in an effort to create an archival consciousness and raise their awareness of the local history and the promotion of the Heptanisian culture.
The Archives of the Prefecture of Lefkada operates a library, supporting the activities of the archives and the investigations of those who consult the archival material which belongs to the G.S.A. Lefkada Regional Department.
The G.S.A. – Lefkada Regional Department every year they enrich the Historical Library with purchases and small donations to serve the researchers who visit it, while a special section concerns a variety of topics from the local literature.
The library is not lending. The public has access during the hours of operation of the service or, in cases of need, and at other times, after consultation with the staff.
